Community Update : Bike and Vehicle Security |
||
|
Dear Resident
I would like to make local residents aware of a recent increase in thefts of motorbikes and bicycles in the Wincheap and Thanington area. While this is understandably a concern, I would like to reassure the community that we are aware of the issue and are actively working to identify and catch those responsible.
We have also noted incidents where car door handles have been tried, which suggests offenders are checking vehicles for insecure access. In many cases there is no indication of forced entry, meaning simple security measures can make a significant difference.
PC Angell and I, along with colleagues from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, are carrying out patrols and enquiries in the area and will continue to monitor the situation closely. Information from the public is extremely valuable and helps us target our activity effectively.
Residents are encouraged to consider the following crime prevention advice: If you see anyone acting suspiciously around vehicles or bikes, please report it. 📞 999 – if a theft is in progress or there is an immediate risk
Thank you for your continued support. By working together and taking simple security measures, we can help reduce opportunities for crime and keep our community safe. | ||
